\nAmanta chair set by Mario Bellini for C&B Italia, 1960s.
\nThe Amanta model was the first piece designated by Mario Bellini for the debut of the Italian firm, he was inspired by the Barcelona armchair by Ludwig Mies Van de Rohe in order to produce one of the very first modular sofas.
\nThis series is no longer produced to this day, however there is a second version which was released in 1975 which differs in some structural points such as the removal of the rear slit, the removal of the buttons or the addition of a cushion. additional on the seat but the innovation was brought by the addition of an armrest module.
\nThe armchair is cubic in shape. The frame is made from a single piece of reinforced polyester with a slot in the middle of the backrest to reinforce the resistance of the structure. It is made up of 3 cushions independent of the structure with three covered buttons on the back and three on the seat tightening the covering. In addition, the armchair does not have a base. We also find the C&B Italia logo molded under the structure.<\/p>\n
