Vintage Design
The Ninfea chair was designed by one of the most renowned Italian designers, Gio Ponti, in the 1950s. from 1958 onwards, it was produced by the company Brevetti Fratelli Reguitti, an Italian company that was very productive during the 1940s to the 1960s.
Ninfea is a folding chair with a wooden frame. Originally, it was produced in three different upholstery styles: woven wicker, leather, and fabric. We currently offer the fabric version. The seat and backrest have been reupholstered in a beautiful olive-colored fabric. The wood has been cleaned and color-matched while retaining a hint of its patina. The chair hinges are made of brass.
The design of the chairs is documented in the Gio Ponti archive in Milan and was published in the Italian publication “Novita” in May 1958, where it was also declared that the design was indeed created by the giant of his time, Giovanni “Gio” Ponti.
