Vintage Design
The “Congo” chair was designed in the early 1950s by the Dutch designer Theo Ruth (1915 – 1971) for the Dutch company Artifort. Strongly reminiscent of the African palaver chair, which also consists of two separate parts that can be pushed together. This example is in very good condition. Recently re-upholstered with an off-white bouclé fabric (cotton with linen).
