The picturesque type-setting table top of precious marble and malachite includes four mosaic tondos with views of the eternal city. Miniatures, like magnificent decorations, captured: the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, the Colosseum and Peter`s Square. They intertwine the eternities of chess and Rome. The whimsical carving pattern perfectly supports the decorative, life-affirming conviviality of the countertop. Italy 19th century. Dimensions: 62X66 cm.
