Vintage Design
The table having a burr walnut top with canted corners, supported on a walnut cross-frame with chamfered edging and visible pegs to the mortice and tenon joints. There is a central chamfered arch. The table stands on the original brass castors.
The solid walnut base has the original patina. It has been waxed, and is in lovely condition. The burr walnut veneered top has been refinished to match the base in colour, and still retaining light authentic marks to highlight its genuine heritage. There were shrinkage gaps to each end on one side. These have been restored along with a butterfly join to each side of the underside, to keep it secure. One of the sides had been reglued previously, and this was not quite level hence a slight indentation to the top surface.
A superb table that could be used as a small desk or side/hall table. It is very sturdy with no loose joints, and free from any woodworm.
Additional dimensions information:
It is 70.5cm in height from under the table top to the floor.
