Vintage Design
A pair of extremely rare and comfortable cantilever armchairs designed by the famous Miroslav Navratil for the Up Závody Furniture Manufactory in Brno.
The structure of the bentwood armrests is truly revolutionary allowing for a slight rocking effect (the Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto designed his iconic “Tank chair” with a similar structure albeit a more solid form).
These sleek lounge chairs are a staple piece of art deco furniture design!
The armchairs underwent a full restoration using original methods and high-end materials.
The wood has been hand polished and lacquered in a high-gloss black.
The armchairs have been reupholstered with a durable, textured designer fabric by Jab in a subtle turquoise blue colour which, unfortunately, isn’t showing correctly on the pictures.
