Antique Dutch Bombe Cylinder Secretaire Desk Cylinder Bureau
Made in the Netherlands, dating to the first quarter of 1700
Oak base veneered with mahogany.
Bureau consists of two parts
The lower section the bombé base with three drawers
Two of the 3 locks are working with keys
Above the quarter round cylinder flap, when the writing surface is pulled out, the the cylinder goes up automatically
The sliding writing surface is inlaid with olive green fabric and is stable enough to work on (height of working surface is 78 cm)
On top you find two lockable sliding tambour doors with a lot of storage space

This secretaire has a beautiful salvaged/distressed look with some discoloration on the mahogany of usage over the past centuries
Good antique condition however, there are some visible cracks in the veneer on the right side.
